Trend: collars

This season collars are really on trend. And how does a trend become a trend? Right, when something is worn by influential people in the fashion world, in this case Alexa Chung. Alexa is a television presenter, model and contributing editor at British Vogue. If there's a fashion event, you can be sure to spot this fashionista front row. 

Personally, I prefer collars with an edge like the studded ones. I find plain white collars just a bit to sweet. What do you think of this collar trend?

Beauty: Side braid tutorial

This is a nice alternative to a normal side braid! A piece of advice, when you straighten your hair first the braiding will go a lot easier (don't make my mistake ;) ). Hope you have fun with this.

From casual to chic: Forever 21 Blouse

It's so nice if you can wear one piece of clothing in different ways. By changing just a few things, a new look is created. Accessories, shoes and your hair or make-up look make a big difference between casual and chic of course. Most of the time it's just a matter of experimenting with your look, so try it out and it might surprise you how versatile your wardrobe actually is!

From casual to chic: Vero Moda T-shirt

I just bought this T-shirt last weekend and I've been wanting to wear it every day since then. But that would be gross, of course! Here I've styled this T-shirt for a casual appointment, like a trip to the supermarket or something. And for a chic occasion like a date with the BF to the movies. I love wearing both looks!

Simplicity can be key sometimes when you put an outfit together. Just a white shirt, dark jeggings, some gold jewelery and your ready to go! Clearly my cat was desperate for some attention and wanted a moment in the spotlight.. Such vanity ;)

We love... Lauren Conrad

Lauren Conrad has her own blog, together with her makeup artist and hairdresser about all beauty stuff, and website, about fashion, interior design, food and beauty. This American television personality has written a trilogy L.A. Candy, which is based on her life. She starred in Laguna Beach, a reality-show about life in high school, and the spin-off The Hills, in which a camera crew follows her life as a Teen Vogue intern. LC, which she despises to have as her nickname, also has three fashion lines. 

Beauty: Nailpolish crush

For some time now I was looking for a new nailpolish. I wanted to try something different than the usual red or pink. This nailpolish from Catrice caught my eye when I was shopping for some beautyproducts. And I must say, I really like it! To me this colour looks like the grey of a pencil.
The colour is called 'Captain Sparrow's boat', which I find a bit strange. I don't see the connection between the name and the colour, do you? 

Because it was so low priced, I was a little sceptical about the quality, but I was pleasantly suprised!

The coverage is perfect after the second layer and after two days it hardly chipped. I Think I might buy some more nailpolishes from Catrice in the future :)

Outfit of the day: Stripes and hearts

 While selecting these pictures I thought about the earrings I'm wearing. I got them three years ago when I finished secondary education and wore them for prom. Since then I only wore them twice or so... and there's more jewelry I never wear. I just simply never think about accessorizing my outfit when getting dressed in the morning. Do any of you have the same problem?

Outfit of the day: Comfortable layers

Because of the rainy weather, I just wanted to wear a comfortable outfit today. Layering is really practical when it's cold outside and warm inside. I'm really getting tired of these obnoxious rainy and cold days, and I don't think I'm alone :) I can't wait for spring!

Spring 2012 trend report

With fashion weeks for fall/winter 2012 going on right now, we thought it would be useful to summarize all new trends for the upcoming season. Just because Spring is not even over yet.

COLOURS

 Main colours for this season are pastels (light pink, light blue and beige) and neons (orange, red, green and bright pink). Try wearing these trends sometimes, but stay true to the colours that match your skin tone (click here to find out). 

ITEMS

Add these items to your wardrobe to create a fashionable, trendy look. 

The wedged sneaker (Ash via Asos) is definitely worth its high price, more comfortable than real heels but they give you the same extra centimeters.

As for bag trends, invest this Spring in a small satchel (River Island). This item has been around for quite a while now, but this time in a smaller version.

Spring means heels and the trend is the surfer platform (Zara). Careful when strolling over cobbles.
My favourite is this white leather jacket (Topshop). It goes with almost any outfit and perfect when it's still chilly outside.
For bottoms choose for a pastel coloured skinny jeans (Vivienne Westwood for Lee via Asos). Always go for the right fit, get yourself measured!
Accessories make or break an outfit. Statement earrings (Asos), whatever kind you like, are best this season.

HAIR
Last season braids were all over the place. This season we opt for an urban wave, simple and classy. Bye bye braids and welcome the twist, easier and evenly beautiful.

You can adjust most trends to your own style. 

For this all white look you can use items from last year and the year before, just go for white!

Another hot trend this Spring is the mix and match style. Or actually the mix and mismatch, because you create this trend by combining different textures, prints, colours and accessories.

BEAUTY

Most women don't pay attention to beauty trends, but it's always fun to try something new or unusual. The nude trend continues in 2012. Luminous skin, clean eyebrows, natural skin, as if you're not wearing any make-up. But if you do like to accentuate your beauty, choose bright lips, matching nails and defined lashed. Fake or real, turn heads with them!

NAILS

Last but not least our nails. An outfit is not finished without a decent manicure. Trends this season are quite hard to handle, but worth giving a try. Two-tone mani is hot and you can diversify as many times as you like. Look for a tutorial online (we did it here) and go for it! Matching with your natural skin is the nude nail, fits with almost anything and easy to do yourself. Last trend is the reversed french manicure, colour at the top, clear at the cuticle.

Outfit of the day: Zebra stripes

Went shopping a few days ago and bought this zebra print scarf at New Look. I just love it, can't stop looking at it either. I might be a little crazy when it comes to new clothes. Outfit of the day: La mode passe, le style reste

La mode passe, le style reste.. I love this saying, it's so true! I quickly threw off my coat yesterday, to show you the outfit I was wearing. This pair of pink pants are actually very thin summerpants, but I wore a pair of panties underneath them so I can wear them in winter! Hopefully summer will come soon, so I can wear all my lovely summerclothes again!

Louise Roe, a 29-year-old British TV-presenter, fashion journalist and stylist, has her own style that is quite difficult to describe. As a professional she knows how to dress herself, but others too. She has her own makeover show, Plain Jane, on British and American television, which airs in 66 countries around the globe. Roe has a lot on her curriculum vitae, such as red carpet reporter at the VMA's and the EMA's, her own blog, a weekly column in UK's glossy Company, judge on Britain's next top model, cast member of MTV's The City, ... . And a great sense of style, not to mention her stunning appearance.

Outfit of the day: Black & white

When I can't decide what to wear, I go for an all black outfit. But today I added my white summer shorts and I think they look great in combination with the snow. 

Beauty: Nude nail tutorial

Sometimes when you have some free time, you want to do something for yourself. What I like to do is a manicure. Here's one inspired by the trends for spring 2012 (nudes are back). And, it matches the snow outside.

Usually when people hear the name Rachel Bilson, "Summer from The OC" pops into their minds. But she's also a style icon and a fashionista. The 30-year-old actress has a fashion advice column in the american magazine InStyle, her own shoe line at Shoemint and the leading role as Doctor Zoe Hart in the comedy-drama television series Hart of Dixie. Definitely a woman worth following.

We took this pictures at the Stadsfeestzaal in Antwerp, once an event hall for different occasions until it was destroyed by a fire. Now it's an indoor shopping mall and our photo shoot location!

School has started again this week, and yes,..it's still a drag!
And although it was sunny, it was rrrealy cold. Good thing I had my furry boots on.
